A simple walk, yet not to be underestimated for its austerity in terms of gradient. We are talking about the path that from the municipality of Primaluna (altitude 558 metres) climbs up to the Crevesto cross, located almost one thousand metres above sea level, a true natural balcony. Not far away are two ancient alpine pastures: Alpe Crevesto di Sotto 934 metres and Alpe Crevesto di Sopra 1009 metres. The walk, as anticipated, in itself is simple and within everyone's reach, but it requires, as they say, a “good leg” and for those who don't have one, it certainly requires a little effort and a few drops of sweat. The itinerary to the Crevesto cross starts from the town of Primaluna. Entering the characteristic old village, we pass under the ruins of the ancient tower and cross the Molinara stream, crossing a small bridge where we find a Cai Primaluna metal signpost indicating Bocchetta d'Olino and Rifugio Santa Rita. The gradient of the mule track soon becomes significant and shortly afterwards we come to a fork in the road.

Continue keeping to the right where an old cobbled path begins, which leads into a magnificent chestnut forest. In some sections the slope is severe and it soon climbs in switchbacks, allowing you to gain altitude. After about 25 to 30 minutes of walking, perhaps even a few minutes more for those who are not in top shape, you reach a beautiful meadow where there is a drinking fountain and some wooden tables with a birch forest as a curtain. To the left of the meadow is a rock spur, on top of which is the Crevesto cross. To reach it, take the easy path to the left at the end of the meadow. Up here in July, the Primaluna community gathers for an Alpine festival steeped in history and tradition, which also attracts many people from neighbouring villages. From the cross, a good portion of Valsassina is dominated and a truly suggestive panorama opens up, made even more majestic by the imposing Fasana wall of the Grignone, Grigna Settentrionale, which rises majestically in front of it. Continuing further, on the right is Alpe Crevesto di Sotto 934 m and a little further on, after passing a votive chapel, the splendid Alpe Crevesto di Sopra 1009 m (in the photo, a view of Valsassina).
