A relatively easy excursion, lasting just over 3 hours, from Alpe di Paglio to Cima di Olino, perfect for tackling with snowshoes in winter. We set off from the Alpe di Paglio car park, which can be reached by driving up the Alta Valsassina towards Premana, turning right shortly after Casargo. From there, the road, via 13 hairpin bends, leads to the Alpe di Paglio car park. Follow the only path that ascends along the route of the old ski slope until you reach Cima di Laghetto first, and then, passing the arrival point of the Pian delle Betulle chairlift, continue to the summit of Cimone di Margno (1,805 m).
From here, after admiring the splendid panorama of the Upper Valsassina, descend towards the locality Larice Bruciato and then ascend for about 250-200 metres to Cima di Olino, passing also a beautiful little chapel. From this point, it is possible to enjoy a unique and truly fascinating view of the Valsassina. Set off again, returning to Larice Bruciato and heading for Piani delle Betulle, passing by the beautiful mountain pasture of Ortighera where, in summer, it is also possible to stop and buy cheeses and local products. From Le Betulle, you then return to the starting point, the Alpe di Paglio car park. A circular excursion suitable for everyone, at times challenging due to the steepness of the path but which offers splendid views of the Valsassina.
