Overlooking the blue waters of Lake Como like a silent sentinel, the Vezio Castle dominates the village of Varenna from above and offers one of the most iconic and evocative views of the entire eastern shore of the lake. Seeing an eagle owl or a peregrine falcon hover in the background of the lake is an experience that enriches the visit and restores the deep sense of the bond between man and nature.
No less interesting is the archaeological area located near the walls, where remains dating back to the late Roman and early medieval period have been found, testifying to the ancient occupation of the site.
